The National Cotton Council of America is a farming industry association headquartered in Cordova, Tennessee. It functions as a central forum for consensus-building among the diverse participants in the cotton supply chain—producers, ginners, warehousers, merchants, cottonseed processors and dealers, cooperatives and textile manufacturers—and it serves as a unifying voice to engage with government on cotton policy. The council coordinates industry priorities and policy considerations to ensure cotton interests are represented across public discussions. In 2023 it released the National Cotton Council Planting Intentions Survey, which indicated a projected 17% reduction in U.S. cotton acres to about 11.4 million, reflecting its role in providing market insights to members. As a small-to-mid-sized organization within farming, the NCC supports member services and policy analysis as part of the broader cotton industry ecosystem.
