NCHC, based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, is a mid-sized nonprofit founded in 1991 that serves as the country’s national-level supercomputing center. It maintains large computing and networking platforms for use by domestic academia and the general public, and supports Taiwan’s cloud technology services by integrating HPC, storage, and networking to provide cloud capabilities for storage, big data analysis, and scientific and engineering simulation. The organization serves academia, government, and industry with professional technologies and platform services that advance HPC research and help cultivate domestic talent. It has built technology R&D platforms to enable both domestic and foreign teams to develop HPC and big data applications across engineering, environmental science, biomedicine, and digital cultural content creation. In May 2025, NCHC announced the launch of a new supercomputer for quantum research.
