New Cyberian originated as a fictional entity within a business simulation game played by a group of MBA students at San Jose State University back in 1999. This eclectic team of MBA students, encompassing musicians, indie filmmakers, graphic artists, and software engineers, was drawn together by a shared passion for CD and DVD products. They selected the virtual landscape of compact disc manufacturing for their in-game venture, driven by their collective desire to replicate CDs and DVDs for personal use. Their initial research revealed an industry dominated by a handful of major players, with little competition or consumer-friendly practices in sight. The laissez-faire market dynamics seemed conspicuously absent, as exorbitant prices, subpar product quality, and concealed fees ran rampant in this sector.

Isaac Cheung, a former IBM employee with a background in software engineering and songwriting, proposed the idea of turning their simulated company into a real-world business. In March 2000, New Cyberian was officially established and headquartered in San Jose, California. The early days of the company were managed by both the original members of Team New Cyberian and their counterparts from the business simulation game.

Leveraging the power of the Internet, New Cyberian entered the scene as a provider of CD and DVD replication services in late 2000. By 2003, the company had expanded its offerings to encompass a comprehensive range of disc copying services, spanning various formats and sizes. This included high-volume CD, DVD, and Blu-ray replication, as well as short-run duplication. Additionally, they introduced new products like retail-ready packaging options, such as cardboard mailers, jewel cases, DVD Amaray cases, digipak, disc wallets, and more.

In 2004, New Cyberian achieved a significant milestone by becoming an approved vendor for the U.S. Government Printing Office. Its list of clientele extended to include government agencies like the U.S. Department
