New-Indy Containerboard LLC, based in Rancho Cucamonga, Southern California, was formed in 2012 as a joint venture between The Kraft Group, LLC, and Schwarz Partners, LP. The company operates two California mills that produce 100% recycled-fiber containerboard for the corrugated box industry, processing more than 100 truckloads of Old Corrugated Containers daily into new brown paper. Each mill contains a co-generation power plant that meets its electricity needs and, through a partnership with Southern California Edison, also supplies power to thousands of homes and businesses; the facilities reuse water to minimize consumption. The operation emphasizes environmentally conscious manufacturing, supported by air emissions controls and wastewater treatment, with multiple years of operation without environmental Notices of Violation. In 2020, New-Indy expanded its footprint by acquiring Shoreline Container, reflecting growth in the recycled containerboard market.
