NFCA is a professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches across all competitive levels. It offers education, events, awards, and networking, including a national convention, eight regional clinics, in-person seminars, as well as tournaments and camps. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, the association has grown from about 40 members to more than 5,500, with participants from all 50 states and several international countries, supported by a small national staff and a board. The NFCA’s programs are designed to advance coaching professionalism and facilitate networking within the spectator sports landscape. It also administers recognition programs such as All-American Scholar-Athlete and All-Region honors, with recent announcements highlighting the annual scholar-athlete honors and regional selections.
