When Josef Sachs founded Nordiska Kompaniet in 1902 he had a clear vision: the great department store NK was to be a commercial and cultural theatre – a contemporary stage. Ambitious words perhaps, but they still permeate every aspect of NK.

Josef Sachs grundade Nordiska Kompaniet 1902 och hade redan då en tydlig ambition. Varuhuset NK skulle vara en kommersiell och kulturell teater – en scen för samtiden. Måhända är det storslagna ord, men de genomsyrar fortfarande allt NK gör. 

Portarna till varuhuset på Hamngatan i Stockholm slogs upp 1915. Sedan dess har allt från ikoniska personligheter till exklusiva lanseringar passerat revy. Oavsett vad som sker på NK är varuhuset känt för att alltid ligga steget före.
