OraVu is the designer and manufacturer of the DeVA-1 dental micro-endoscope with Micro Rinse system for the treatment of periodontitis and implantitis. 

In the past, the options to treating chronic periodontal disease with pocket depths of 5mm+ were limited to  “blind” scaling and root planing (SRP), surgery, or tooth removal. 

Studies have shown that traditional SRP leaves up to 40% of disease causing calculus behind. This often leads to ineffective treatment, minimal changes to pocket depth, and either the need for painful gingival flap surgery (GFS) or loss of teeth. Patients are then faced with even more expensive implant surgeries, if they can afford it.  

The limitations of “Blind” SRP can be extremely expensive for the patients. Sometimes the patients undergo SRP treatment several times before being told that they need periodontal surgery, which can delay and exacerbate the disease.  

Visual-SRP℠ is superior in that it allows the clinician to actually SEE the calculus below the gums that they are  trying to remove to ensure a thorough deep cleaning is accomplished.  

Visual-SRP℠ with the OraVu DeVA-1 micro-endoscope achieves 90% or more effective deep cleaning, and saves teeth from extraction. With up to 48X magnification, the ability to visually remove calculus, biofilms, and other deposits is more thorough, effective, and less invasive treatment of periodontal disease.
