ORC Training, is a division of O. R. Colan Associates, the nation's oldest firm specializing exclusively in land acquisition, relocation, and program management for public works projects. ORC Training (ORCT) has developed or updated all of the real estate related training courses for the National Highway Institute (NHI), the training arm of the Federal Highway Administration. Currently our staff instructs all of these courses for NHI throughout the nation. The current NHI curriculum in the real estate area includes two classes on real estate appraisal and three classes on relocation assistance, all conducted under the requirements of the Uniform Act. In addition, ORCT recently developed an NHI course that provides guidance to local public agencies about the following the requirements of the Uniform Act to retain eligibility for Federal funding. ORC Training develops and delivers an internal training curriculum to improve and enhance employee development. These courses address all aspects of the right-of-way acquisition process – appraisal, negotiation, relocation assistance, highway plan reading and project management. ORCT also offers these courses to the public. Most of these courses can be presented in a web-based format or delivered in half-day, one-day or two-day instructor-led sessions. Many of the topics are developed in a modular design and can be customized for individual needs.
