The Port of Skagit is a small- to mid-sized port authority focused on economic development in Skagit County. It is governed by an elected three-member board and emphasizes transparent governance and efficient public service at minimal cost to taxpayers. The port owns and operates three facilities—the Skagit Regional Airport, the Bayview Business Park, and the La Conner Marina—which together host more than 82 businesses and employ nearly 1,263 people. Through these assets, it serves customers across aviation, commercial, and marina activities and acts as a regional economic development anchor for Burlington and the surrounding area in Skagit County. One notable recent development involves collaboration with the Port of Anacortes to begin drafting an Interlocal Agreement aimed at expanding regional commercial and industrial development across Skagit County, reflecting ongoing cross-jurisdiction cooperation.
