Established in 1982, Reaching Maximum Independence, Inc. has been serving the San Antonio community with inclusive and engaging programs for over 36 years.  

Mission Statement
The mission of Reaching Maximum Independence, Inc. is to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) 
reach their maximum level of independence. 

Vision Statement
Our vision is for all people with IDD to be able to reach their individual maximum level of independence.

Philosophy Statement
RMI’s philosophy is that of inclusion.  We believe all individuals should be able to fully engage in and benefit from all the resources and activities available within our community. These activities include: volunteerism, employment, and life skills training. 

RMI offers a variety of residential options that provide just the right amount of supervision and community support to help each individual  reach their maximum level of independence. Enrollment in RMI's Life Enrichment Day program allows adults living in a group home, their own apartment, or their family home to participate in social, educational and recreational activities in the community.
