In 2003 Bart Reagor started Reagor Auto Mall selling high end pre-owned vehicles with two goals in mind: To be the best place for people to buy a car and the best place for people to work in the car business.

Bart teamed with Rick Dykes in 2006 to form the Reagor Dykes Auto Group. Together they have built one of the fastest growing auto dealers in Texas. Since its opening, the company has grown from $10 million in sales in its first year to over $400 million in retail sales in 2013. Today the company consists of 18 retail locations across West Texas from Midland to Amarillo and the Dallas area. It is this consistent year over year growth that landed the Reagor Dykes Auto Group on the Inc. Magazine top 5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States and number two among the nation’s auto retailers.

With the hub of the company in Lubbock and an employee base of nearing 400 the need for administrative and operations space became apparent to owners Bart Reagor and Rick Dykes. The search led the pair to some properties in downtown Lubbock, one of which was the first high-rise commercial building in the city. Built in 1926 the Myrick-Green and the adjacent Cobb Department Store building which was built in the 1940’s were purchased in late 2013.

The Reagor Dykes Auto Group’s investment in the Lubbock downtown area only adds to the positive impact the organization has made on the communities where it does business daily. To go along with the Inc. 5000 ranking, the group has been named Philanthropic Corporation of the Year by the West Texas Association of Professional Fundraisers, Entrepreneur of the Year by the Northeast Lubbock Development Corp. and Business of the Year but the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
