Resilience operates as Chicago’s only stand-alone rape crisis center, providing survivor-centered advocacy, healing, and education for more than five decades. It seeks to end rape culture by empowering survivors, advancing policy and systems change, and delivering trauma-informed services across the region. Through its presence in Chicago-area emergency departments, it offers nonjudgmental emotional support, medical and legal information, and referrals to help survivors navigate moments of crisis. Core services include trauma-informed counseling and therapy for individuals, families, and groups, along with medical and legal advocacy to support survivors in emergency rooms, courts, and the broader legal system. It partners with the Chicago Police Department, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, and other institutions to improve survivor outcomes and expands access through coordinated co-located services in the Chicago region.
