The “jewel” of San Francisco’s assisted living and memory care communities, Rhoda Goldman Plaza (RPG) is built on a foundation of not-for-profit values and Jewish principles, where all are welcome. 

As of 2024, the stand-alone nonprofit status was transferred to Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) , as owner and manager. 

Originally founded by Jewish Family and Children's Services and Mount Zion Health Fund in May 2000, in honor of Rhoda Goldman (1924 – February 17, 1996), an American Philanthropist who, along with her husband, Richard Goldman, founded the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, a foundation that has donated over $680 million to the region's welfare.

RPG is known for the longevity of the residents who are supported by its well-acknowledged excellent care and partnership with Seniors at Home, award winning senior division of JFCS. 
Life at RGP is full and lively. The building is described by visitors as cozy yet refined with fresh flowers, a collection of original art from Chagall to SF well known artists, comfortable common spaces, stimulating programs, chef-prepared cuisine, a busy cafe and social-emotional support both lay and rabbinical. Over 150 apartments, with an average of 95% occupancy. To reach the standard level of services that Rhoda Goldman Plaza requires, RGP has an average of 155 active staff members.
