The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) is a U.S.-based trade association that represents leading participants across the satellite sector, including operators, service providers, manufacturers, launch services, and ground equipment suppliers. Established in 1995, it serves as the industry’s collective voice on policy, regulatory, and legislative issues that affect satellites. The organization also promotes the deployment of commercial satellite technology to support the global information infrastructure, national security, public safety, and disaster relief. SIA’s membership spans the satellite value chain, and the association actively monitors regulatory developments both domestically and internationally to advance member interests. It engages on matters such as broadband, spectrum, licensing and export controls, international trade, and forums involving military and government stakeholders. In 2024, SIA appointed Madeleine Chang as Director of Policy, and the group has hosted its Leadership Dinner annually, featuring government officials from agencies such as the FCC.
