The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) is a U.S.-based trade association providing worldwide representation of the leading satellite operators, service providers, manufacturers, launch services providers, and ground equipment suppliers. Since 1995, SIA has been the unified voice of the U.S. satellite industry on policy, regulatory, and legislative issues affecting the satellite community. The association actively promotes the benefits and uses of commercial satellite technology and services in support of the global information infrastructure and economy, as well as national security, public safety, and disaster relief. As the commercial satellite industry’s lead advocate, SIA continually monitors the domestic and international regulatory landscape and works to advance satellite interests both at home and abroad. SIA and its member companies are actively involved in promoting satellite issues in broadband, spectrum, licensing/regulatory, international trade, export controls, plus military and other government forums.
