Schmitt Music is a long-established regional retailer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, offering a broad range of musical instruments and related products. The stores sell band and orchestra instruments, pianos—including exclusive Steinway & Sons models—guitars, ukuleles, sheet music, and accessories, and they provide services such as music lessons and instrument repair. The company supports music education and community involvement through extensive lesson programs and school-band partnerships, with thousands of students participating each year, and a network of technicians who service instruments regularly. Schmitt Music operates nine locations across Minnesota and neighboring states, including five stores in Minnesota (two in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area with others in Duluth, Rochester, and Virginia) and one store each in Fargo, North Dakota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and Omaha, Nebraska. Founded in 1896 and still family-run, the business has maintained a multi-generational leadership presence in the regional music retail landscape.
