The company later expanded to other cities, including Santiago and Barcelona, with fleets that include motos, e-bikes and kick scooters, aiming to reduce urban congestion and emissions. Through its service, hundreds of thousands of riders have taken millions of zero-emission rides in city environments. Based in San Francisco, California, Scoot operates in the technology and internet sector focused on urban mobility. In 2019 it was acquired by Bird, marking a notable change in ownership within the shared mobility space.
