Since 1974 Solar Development Inc. has been manufacturing the finest quality solar heating systems made in the U.S.A. As Florida's premier manufacturer, we have over 25 collectors and systems rated at FSEC (www.fsec.ucf.edu/solar) and SRCC, with some of the highest ratings of any Flat Plate Collector manufactured in the U.S. Our Sunstar and Pacemaker systems are time-proven water heating systems with impressive performance ratings. Throughout our history, Solar Development has consistently moved the performance and cost effectiveness of solar applications forward. We have received numerous patents and several honors and awards from DOE, NREL, and the state of Florida. In 1991 the demand for installation and service of solar systems in Florida created a unique opportunity for Solar Development. In order to capitalize on the years of engineering and marketing experience of the company founders, SDI Solar Inc, a solar contracting firm, was born. SDI Solar was created to be a facilitator of Solar Development products through its vast dealer and distributor network. David Burrows, President and CEO, in addition to his many engineering credentials, became a licensed General Contractor (GCG1505549) a licensed Roofing Contractor (CCC1328415) and a licensed Solar Contractor (CVC56704). By focusing on green technologies, SDI Solar has become a leading solar installer and integrator in the Southeast and the only manufacturer – integrator in the industry. With nearly 40 years of solar engineering, manufacturing and integration experience, SDI has become a leader in the solar industry. SDI has recently focused on building a large installation department allowing us to engineer, procure and construct our own photovoltaic projects while also providing labor and installation services to other solar integrators.
