SecureFutures is a nonprofit organization operating within the primary and secondary education space, focused on improving financial literacy for teens. It offers three programs: Money Sense, a curriculum covering essential financial concepts; Money Coach, a mentoring initiative for teens from historically marginalized and under-resourced communities preparing for independent living after high school; and Money Path, a web-based platform that connects academic and career planning with financial planning to help students map a personalized path toward their long-term goals. The organization reports that its programs have reached more than 112,000 teens, reflecting substantial reach in teen financial education. Founded in 2006 and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, SecureFutures delivers its programming at no cost to participating high schools and community-based organizations, with support from volunteers and supporters. It works with schools and community groups to build financial capability among teens and to support planning for education, work, and financial independence. In December 2023, SecureFutures launched Money Path, a web-based application that connects a student’s post-high-school plan with their financial future.
