Self-Help Federal Credit Union is a community development financial institution in the financial services sector, based in Oakland, California. It was founded in 2008 as part of the Self-Help family and focuses on affordable, responsible financial services for a broad audience, with a particular emphasis on low-wealth and underserved communities. The organization's mission is to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for all, especially people of color, women, rural residents, and low-wealth families and communities. In late 2025, Cencap Federal Credit Union merged with Self-Help Federal Credit Union, expanding its footprint and community impact.
