In September, 2008, Cypress Semiconductor acquired Simtek. The new Cypress/Simtek team will continue to supply the market with nvSRAM, the integrated 'Fast SRAM + non-volatile' memory product lines developed by Simtek over the last two decades. Our memory ICs behave like fast SRAM’s, with blazing access speeds to keep up with today’s top microprocessors and microcontrollers. Then, on any sudden power change or power outage, data is locked in, retaining the current SRAM state data in non-volatile memory until power is again stable and SRAM operation can resume.
