Our medical device, Hemafuse, is a highly effective, mechanical alternative to donor blood and available in Ghana, Kenya, India, and Tanzania. Hemafuse increases access to blood by enabling clinicians to capture a patient’s blood, filter it, and return fresh, whole blood back to that same patient. Hemafuse provides immediate access to blood transfusion across trauma, obstetric, general, and orthopedic surgeries with internal bleeding. We have raised VC funding from investors like Revolutions' Rise of the Rest (Steve Case) and non-dilutive grants from groups such as USAID. We are proving the commercial model for medical devices in emerging markets and changing the statistic that 80% of the world's medical devices are designed for 10% of the world's population.
