Skylark Wireless is a telecommunications hardware startup based in Houston, Texas, founded in 2012 by Ph.D. colleagues. It originated by delivering custom software-defined radio equipment to the research and development sector and now designs radio solutions intended to expand rural broadband access. The Faros base station is central to its portfolio, enabling high-speed, multi-user wireless links over tens of miles while addressing the limitations of fiber, satellite, and traditional cellular connectivity. It serves rural broadband needs and notes that over 40 million Americans and more than half the world lack high-speed broadband, a gap it aims to address through partnerships and pilots to bring end-user service in the coming years. In 2025, Skylark announced a partnership with Eridan Communications to advance Open RAN solutions for next-generation wireless infrastructure.
