Welcome to SMART
SMART is a not-for-profit (NFP) corporation providing the daily, grass-roots technical community execution of the vision of the SMART Congressional Caucus and the States of DE, MD, NJ and PA for regional Science and Technology collaboration.

SMART accomplishes this as a membership organization promoting the economic growth and development of technical enterprise, technical education and workforce development of the Mid-Atlantic region through the creation of active partnerships in the regional technical community. The technical community (& SMART membership) is composed of academia, businesses, government labs/field agencies and organizations. SMART focuses its activities via thirteen technology groups which result in networking, events and projects.

SMART’s mission is support of Research & Development (R&D) and Science & Technology (S&T) based opportunities for economic expansion and intellectual vigor in the 4-state region.

Upon passage of the Federal and State SMART bills, the SMART Corporation will transition into the nation’s first interstate S&T Authority. While the Authority will be overseen by the Governors via a Board, the technical community membership will continue to execute the daily activities.
