Smarties Candy Company is a family-owned confectionery manufacturer based in Union, New Jersey, with a second production facility in Newmarket, Ontario. Founded in 1949 by Edward Dee, the business remains in the family and is led by fifth-generation candy makers who share the role of co-presidents, including Sarah Dee, Jessica Dee Sawyer, and Liz Dee. As a small- to mid-sized operation, it produces more than two billion candy rolls annually.

Its range extends beyond classic Smarties rolls to include additional confections and seasonal offerings. The company targets general consumer markets that enjoy candy for celebrations and everyday treats, alongside gifts and novelty items. A notable development in 2024 was the introduction of Smarties U, a program to reward students nationwide.
