Sound Outreach is a Tacoma-based nonprofit focused on building financial resilience and intergenerational wealth for economically vulnerable households in Pierce County. Founded in 1996, the organization historically connected clients to health, housing, and social services to move from insecurity toward stability, and since 2015 has expanded into financial empowerment through the Sound Outreach Triangle model, which combines intensive counseling, a loan guarantee fund, and a community lending partner to broaden access to wealth-building financial products. To support clients, the program includes employment coaching and uses microfinance-inspired concepts alongside data-driven strategies. It targets three milestones for clients: a 700 credit score, a $26 per-hour household wage for a family of four, and three months of savings. In 2025, Sound Outreach appointed Jennifer Morrison as executive director, effective September 19.
