Stand Beside Them, Inc. is a nonprofit that assists military veterans, their spouses and caregivers as they adjust to civilian life. It mobilizes a broad cadre of volunteers—more than 200 professional coaches with credentials spanning life, career, wellness, education, executive and leadership domains, including ICF certification—to offer free, confidential, one-on-one coaching sessions across the United States. The program provides guidance during this challenging transition, while clarifying that coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment; when conditions such as PTSD or traumatic brain injury are present, the organization helps connect individuals with appropriate medical care and continues coaching when they are ready. Based in Many, Louisiana, Stand Beside Them operates within the individual and family services sector and delivers its coaching program to people across the United States. The organization notes that more than 200,000 service members transition to civilian life each year, highlighting the ongoing demand for its free coaching support for veterans, spouses and caregivers.
