Nestled in the heart of MidCoast Maine, State of Maine Cheese Company has been hand-crafting fine, award winning cheeses since 1983.  Our specialties include mild and sharp Cheddar, plain and flavored Monterey Jack, Caerphilly, Gouda and Tomme-Style cheese.  
All our cow’s milk is from local farms. Our farmers’ do not use synthetic bovine growth hormones in the treatment of their animals.  We use a vegetable rennet and do not add any preservatives – all natural, all the way from beginning to end.  
Visit us at the Rockport Marketplace, sample our cheeses and browse the hundreds of Maine made foods, beers, wines and so much more that is available in our retail store.  We are open year round.  Creamery tours are by appointment, so please give us a call at 207-236-8895 or 800-762-8895.
