The roots of Summit Management Services, Inc. (SMSI) date back to 1979, when Herbert Newman began a successful career purchasing, renovating and operating over 15 properties in SMSI’s original submarket. 

Since then the focus has turned to high-end, luxury apartments in trendy neighborhoods, but the foundation of SMSI’s success remains the same.

Over three decades of property management, we’ve learned that when our property owners, property managers, maintenance and office staff work tirelessly with residents to deliver an outstanding residential experience, it also delivers business success: extraordinary apartment and condominium developments in Northeast Ohio and now, across the nation.

From beautiful wooded settings in Northeast Ohio to exclusive mountainside resort living in Asheville, North Carolina to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Fort Collins, Colorado. From seniors to students to the most affluent professionals, the SMSI approach makes for high occupancy, low turnover and consistent resident satisfaction. 

Our business is property management, but it’s not really about assets or financial strategies or return on investment. After 30 years, and two generations, we’ve learned that success is simply making sure everyone feel at home.
