(SMSI) date back to 1979, when Herbert Newman began a successful career purchasing, renovating and operating over 15 properties in SMSI’s original submarket. Since then the focus has turned to high-end, luxury apartments in trendy neighborhoods, but the foundation of SMSI’s success remains the same.
