Sunoco Logistics operates in the oil and gas industry and moves energy resources through a network of trucks, pipelines, and storage terminals to markets that demand them. The company is organized around three business lines: Crude Oil, Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs), and Refined Products. It maintains about 8,600 miles of pipelines in major activity centers across the Northeast, Midwest, and Gulf Coast, and operates notable terminals including the Nederland, Texas crude terminal and the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex on the Pennsylvania-Delaware border, which is being developed as a natural gas liquids hub. It buys crude oil from U.S. domestic producers and sells it to refiners, moving materials by ship, barge, truck, and rail. Sunoco Logistics employs about 501-1000 people, and has a history of merger activity with Energy Transfer entities, including a 2017 merger with Energy Transfer Partners.
