We’ve always been waste reducers with a gearhead mentality. Efficiencies are our fuel. Since 1991, the  GI/TMS tiger team has been remanufacturing used machinery, keeping thousands of tons of equipment in use and out of landfills. But we knew there was much more to do.

One of our partners approached us several years ago with a challenging request. They asked us to develop a solution for the production of lightweight, durable mailers that could be recycled at the curb. People laughed. Sustainability had barely shipped for years. We stepped in and made it happen. After exhaustive testing, we rolled out a single-stream mailer production line with zero trim waste, which helps to protect our customers’ waste management and significantly reduces “dim weight.”

The time to scale was and is the present moment, which led to our successful acquisition by Pregis. It was the “Dream Team” of partnerships. Pregis represents the most cutting-edge provider of global packing solutions—with 50+ years’ experience and customers across six continents. Together, we are currently producing hundreds of millions of recyclable, cost-competitive mailers per year and now we can provide the world’s largest e-commerce retailers with solutions for cushioned mailers, inside the box protection and high output poly bagging systems. That’s green enterprise in action.
