The Arc of the Capital Area is a long-standing nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Central Texas. Located in Austin, the organization has operated for more than 75 years. It provides ongoing, person-centered supports to help individuals live with dignity and independence, including case management, art programs and opportunities for further education, community integration initiatives, guardianship and legal assistance, mental health services, and preparation for employment.

Through partnerships with the community, corporate volunteer programs, and advocacy, The Arc works to broaden opportunities and remove barriers for people with disabilities. Each year, the organization helps thousands of individuals and families navigate complex systems and access resources to build fulfilling futures. In February 2022, The Arc of the Capital Area partnered with Divine Canines to host Bark for The Arc, an art show featuring pet-inspired artwork created by local artists with IDD.
