OUR COMMUNITY Since 1882, The Community at Sunset Wood, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has offered seniors 62+ an environment that includes gracious living with options for aging in place. Our campus, located in the Village of New Hartford, is independently owned and has a Board of Directors that oversees long range goals and opportunities for programs that enhance a high quality of living within our community. Our campus consists of 42 suites and 24 penthouses which are available to seniors 62 or older. Nestled in the heart of the Village of New Hartford, the community is conveniently situated near shopping, restaurants, doctors’ offices and churches – many within walking distance. OUR MISSION Our Independent Senior Living community is much different than others in the fact that we are able to make connect our tenants for community-based services that they need in order to help them “age in place.” Our Community Specialist is here to connect our tenants with the proper care that they need in the comfort of their own home. Our goal is to have The Community at Sunset Wood your final home which you can relax with the comfort of all the services you need whether it be medically or through companionship. OUR GOAL The Community at Sunset Wood staff considers ourselves a part of our seniors’ extended-family, respecting the rights of the individual, yet always available should a crisis or emergency arise. Our goal is to help our seniors age in place by providing them with the tools that they need to remain independent with the luxury of a carefree home experience.
