Our mission is to create stronger, more inclusive workplaces with greater access to good, secure and flexible working for all. We work to tackle barriers to progress with both policy makers and employers and we are the UK’s leading experts on flexible working and job design. Through our research, we evidence the need for good flexible work to boost the living standards of low and middle earners. We know good flexible jobs enable employees to gain increased autonomy and control over how much, when or where they work. Through our programmes, we trial practical solutions onsite, in classrooms, on construction sites and in hospitals, and scale these through consultancy and campaigns. We have worked with many UK employers in our 18 years, to improve their approaches to flexible working in low- and middle-income roles across their organisations. Our clients range from Tesco and Google to Skanska and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We have worked with over 100 NHS Trusts, run a fairer flexible work programme with Scottish local authorities and operate the UK’s trusted Flexible Jobs Index – the largest data set of its kind, which analyses more than 6m UK job ads for flexible working possibilities. Our social impact report highlights that in the last two years we have generated a positive impact for over 860,000 workers. Ranging from improved wellbeing and work life balance through to enhanced flexible ways of working, better working hours, less chaotic workloads and improved internal progression pathways. Our campaigning work raises awareness of the need for a national, coordinated effort to increase the supply of good quality flexible jobs and in doing so, tackle poverty and inequality. Every employer, every policymaker and every industry body can play their part. Ask us how.
