Tom Thumb Food Stores is a family-owned and operated convenience store chain that has maintained a presence in South Florida for more than 50 years, with locations spanning from Fort Lauderdale to Key West. Our History Tom Thumb was founded in 1964 by Tom Smith and his son in law, Jim McCarthy, with a single store in Miami, Florida. With the success of this location, more locations were opened and the company now owns and operates 15 Tom Thumb locations. In the 1970's, Tom Thumb added petroleum to the long list of services available to consumers. In the mid-1990's, Tom Thumb added Subway restaurants. We now operate 9 Subway restaurants - both in Tom Thumb locations and "free-standing" locations - throughout South Florida. Tom Thumb is currently undergoing a re-imagining of our branding with remodels in our store locations to better serve our guests. Keep an eye on our product offerings, which are undergoing changes with our goal in mind for "Fast, Fresh and Friendly" service! Tom Thumb is proud to offer our customers safe, clean locations to gas up and grab healthy snack options.
