The TRIDION™-9 integrates a high speed, low thermal mass (LTM) capillary gas chromatograph (GC) with a miniaturized toroidal ion trap mass spectrometer (TMS) to provide a portable, fast, reliable, and easy-to-operate GC-TMS. At a total weight of 32 lbs the TRIDION-9 is the lightest person portable GC-MS in the world. The TRIDION-9 is designed for rapid instrument startup and sample analysis. The on-board library automates target compound deconvolution and identification. Everything from the ruggedized GC-TMS design to the impact resistant case allows the TRIDION-9 to operate under harsh conditions as reliably as a laboratory instrument. The TRIDION-9 GC-TMS is ideal for rapid screening of chemicals such as environmental volatiles and semivolatiles (VOCs/SVOCs), explosives, chemical threats, and hazardous substances. Applications have also been developed in the food, beverage, petrochemical, and consumer products markets. All of this capability comes in a light-weight, person-portable GC-MS instrument. Torion has also developed a line of powerful products for rapid sample collection and preparation in the field. The CUSTODION® products include solid phase microextraction (SPME) syringes for liquid and gaseous samples, needle traps (NT) for gaseous samples, and the accelerated desorption sampler for sampling from solid surfaces. The CUSTODION product line allows users to collect analytes and introduce them into the TRIDION-9 no matter where you or your samples are located.
