Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii (TUSAŞ) is an Ankara-based aviation and aerospace component manufacturer located at No 17 Fethiye Mahallesi Havacilik Bulvari Fethiye, Ankara, Turkey, and employs more than 10,000 people. The company originated in 1973 as a government initiative to reduce dependence on imports in Turkey's defense sector, and in 1984 established TUSAŞ Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii A.Ş. (TAI) as a Turkish–American joint venture to produce F-16 aircraft, integrate its systems, and perform flight tests for the Turkish Air Force. In 2005, foreign shares in TAI were acquired by Turkish shareholders, and TAI and TUSAŞ merged under the TUSAŞ – Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii A.Ş. umbrella, expanding activities to design, development, production, system integration, and lifecycle support across aviation and space sectors. TUSAŞ operates through six strategic centers—Structural, Aircraft, Helicopter, UAV Systems, Space Systems, and the National Combat Aircraft MMU—and provides integrated logistics support for its products. As a global aerospace organization, it pursues international collaborations and program development, and maintains quality standards such as AS9100.
