UCQ was a mid-sized higher education institution based in Ar Rayyan, Qatar, focused on nursing education and strengthening the country’s healthcare workforce. Over nearly two decades, it graduated more than 1,100 nursing professionals from more than 40 countries, including more than 120 Qatari nationals. Its Bachelor and Master of Nursing programs were accredited in Canada and adapted to Qatar’s context, preparing graduates for leadership across clinical practice, education, research, and health-care management. It established collaborations with Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra Medicine, and the Primary Health Care Corporation, and it played a key role in advancing interprofessional education and continuing professional development for nurses and health professionals. UCQ earned recognition as the first institution in the Middle East designated as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization to promote evidence-based nursing practices. The physical campus closed after the institution concluded operations in August 2025, but its legacy continues through alumni contributions to Qatar’s health and well-being.
