UNC Greensboro is a learner-centered, public research university with eight colleges and schools offering more than 150 areas of undergraduate and graduate study. UNCG is recognized nationally for helping first-generation and lower-income students achieve paths to prosperity. Located near downtown Greensboro, N.C., the state’s third-largest city, and founded in 1892 as a college for women, UNCG is one of the original three institutions that formed the UNC System in 1932.
