The USC Race and Equity Center is a higher education-focused research hub at the University of Southern California, based in Los Angeles. It serves as a space for interdisciplinary scholarship, resources, programs, and initiatives aimed at addressing racial equity within USC, other higher education institutions, and broader society. The Center houses the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates and coordinates the USC Equity Institutes, an eight-week program designed to help colleges enact racial equity goals, along with a technology platform called PRISM intended to improve the experiences of racially diverse professionals in higher education and support more equitable hiring outcomes. Its strength lies in collaboration across USC’s many schools, bringing together faculty affiliates to conduct research and public scholarship spanning education, law, public policy, health, the humanities, social sciences, and STEM, with activities ranging from grant proposals and publications to digital media and events.
