Valero Energy Corporation is an international oil and gas company that manufactures and markets transportation fuels and petrochemical products, based in San Antonio, Texas. It operates 14 petroleum refineries with a combined throughput capacity of about 3 million barrels per day and 12 ethanol plants in the U.S. Mid-Continent region with a production capacity of 1.6 billion gallons per year. Its refineries are located in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and it is a joint venture partner in Diamond Green Diesel, which operates a renewable diesel plant in Norco, Louisiana, described as North America’s largest biomass-based diesel plant. The company markets its products through wholesale rack or bulk channels in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Latin America, with approximately 7,000 outlets carrying Valero brand names. Valero employs more than 10,000 people and is a Fortune 500 company.
