VertueLab is a nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon, with roots dating to 2007 when it began as Oregon BEST, a state-supported engine to advance cleantech startups. The organization functions as a bridge between innovators and the resources that fuel their work, offering acceleration programs designed to help companies grow and attract capital. It also serves funders and impact investors by expanding the reach and effectiveness of philanthropic and economic development goals, and by acting as a conduit for investments that seek both financial return and measurable environmental and social impact. Its work sits at the intersection of cleantech entrepreneurship and nonprofit impact, pursuing a broader Pacific Northwest footprint and developing new models for impact investing and impact measurement. In 2024, VertueLab launched Jumpstart to support BIPOC founders in climate tech and rolled out Portland–Seattle programs that culminate in its 45Camp Accelerator, reflecting an emphasis on inclusive programing and climate-focused innovation.
