The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank is a nonprofit organization focused on alleviating hunger and improving food security in the Greater Peninsula region. Since its founding in 1986, it has provided more than 236 million meals across its service area, which includes the Cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, along with Gloucester, James City, Mathews, Surry, and York counties. It achieves its reach through partnerships with more than 200 local agencies—including churches, food pantries, shelters, and other community centers—that people turn to in times of need. Based in Hampton, Virginia, the Foodbank operates as a regional nonprofit dedicated to hunger relief and relies on a network of partner agencies to extend its reach. In 2024 it partnered with Hampton Roads Transit for Hunger Action Month, and in 2023 it collaborated with Immaculate Conception Catholic Church to help families access food. A more recent development is a December 2025 collaboration with The Foleck Center to run a month-long food drive across Hampton Roads.
