Voliro develops aerial robotic systems designed to interact with structures to support maintenance and inspection tasks that require physical contact. Originating from ETH Zurich's Autonomous Systems Lab, the company defines a category of industrial inspection that adds touch to drone-based assessment. Its Voliro T platform uses a tiltable rotor arrangement and interchangeable payloads to enable non-destructive testing, ultrasonic thickness measurements, and lightning protection inspections without scaffolding, rope access, or shutdowns. The system is designed for curved or sloped surfaces and critical assets such as flare stacks, storage tanks, chimneys, and wind turbines, all while remaining in service. Based in Zürich, Switzerland, Voliro operates in the robotics engineering space and in 2026 announced development of a drone-based B-Scan system to map corrosion.
