Founded in 2017, VR World® NYC significantly changed how virtual reality was perceived by the masses, especially in the context of making VR more accessible and less niche. As the largest VR center in the Western Hemisphere, VR World bridged the gap between high-end VR experiences and everyday consumers by offering a wide range of immersive activities beyond gaming, such as art installations, cinematic experiences, and nightlife. Its curated, multi-layered design allowed people to experience VR without needing to invest in expensive headsets, and it catered to a broad demographic, including tourists and non-gamers.  

The center stood out as a trailblazing space, introducing a broader audience to VR’s potential as more than just entertainment. This effort redefined VR's public image, taking it from a tech novelty to a cultural and social experience. VR World® NYC helped make virtual reality a human-centered technology, emphasizing its potential to improve experiences and enrich lives in creative ways. The company closed its public facing operations at the end of 2022.
