Whitespace Interiors is a boutique practice providing interior design services to the luxury hospitality and residential markets.

Southern born and bred, Heather is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast—Just outside New Orleans—where decadence and elegance are a way of life. Heather’s aesthetic evolved against the backdrop of this unique and colorful region. As a result, an inherent sense of style and a sincere spirit infuse her work as a constant reminder that design is a physical expression of a place. Heather now lives in downtown Chicago. She’s still trying to figure out how she got there, but she loves it just the same.

Formally educated in interior design at Mississippi State University, Heather moved to Dallas to work for world-renowned interior design firm Wilson Associates. She spent three years working on many high profile projects before being pursued by a Wilson founding principal to join his newly formed Looney & Associates. Heather rose quickly to Associate Principal and Design Director, positions she held for 17 years. In 1998, she founded the firm’s first and only satellite office in Chicago, which she continued to manage, expand and direct for 13 years.

In 2011, ready to embark on a new journey, Heather established Whitespace Interiors. The firm is founded on a handful of absolute truths: Create great design. Work with great people. Play fair. Have fun. So far, so good. Leveraging her nearly 20 years of design experience, she continues her passion for creating memorable and authentic environments. Heather’s design style mirrors her lifestyle—elegant, complex and ever-changing—all while maintaining an invaluable sense of humor.
