Achieve NBC is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides high quality professional development that is customized to meet the needs of school districts, schools, teachers and others who are seeking to improve their practices through education. Our approach focuses on collaboration, problem-solving, creating professional learning communities, and reflection in pursuit of best practices as well as alignment with Common Core Standards. For school-wide projects, we: assess needs, speak individually to all the participants, identify the strengths of the participants for use in the whole community, work together as a whole and/or in smaller teams and produce a solution collaboratively that has high levels of buy-in. We also provide workshops and professional development sessions on a variety of topics that include reflective practice/creative teaching; writing; becoming professional development providers and technology. We prepare teachers to become leaders among peers and recruit other teachers to provide professional development. In addition, Achieve NBC is committed to helping teachers write about their teaching practices authentically and completely in pursuit of National Board Certification. Through helping teachers, Achieve NBC will increase teacher professionalism and professionalization, satisfaction with teaching, and improvement of teaching practices. Achieve NBC was recently designated as a "high quality professional development provider" at the Chicago Public Schools. Achieve NBC is qualified to provide programming that aligns to the CPS Framework for Teaching and the REACH evaluation.
