Founded in 1996, Barkley Consulting Engineers, Inc. (BCEI), a Florida corporation, has provided structural and civil engineering services to governmental, commercial and residential clients throughout the State of Florida and Southeast Region of the United States, with a primary focus in North Florida. During the past 20 years, the firm has become one of the largest structural engineering firms in the area.

The firm's design criteria incorporates all types of structural materials including but not limited to steel, cold-formed steel, masonry, wood, concrete — precast, prestressed and poured in place; and construction methods such as lift slab, tunnel form, steel frame, tilt up and specialized areas such as deep foundations, post tension slabs, and special needs shelters. The firm has designed structures from wood frame houses to 12 story condominiums in high wind zones.
