Market position Berger Contractors (BEC) is a mid-sized, well-established excavating and underground utility contractor in Northern Illinois with a fleet of over 300 pieces of equipment and a diverse project portfolio spanning residential, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, and public infrastructure.

Public sector traction Strong government project exposure exists in highways, wastewater treatment, and stormwater infrastructure, suggesting opportunities for state, county, and municipal procurement channels and potential prequalification for large-scale public works.

Regional concentration Primary operations in Lake, McHenry, Kane, Cook, and DuPage counties indicate a localized sales focus with familiarity to local agencies and suppliers, enabling targeted partnerships and faster bidding cycles.

Technology footprint BEC leverages a mix of mainstream digital tools (LinkedIn Ads, WordPress, Microsoft 365) and data/optimization assets (Priority Hints, RSS, Apache) that can be expanded to elevate lead generation, bid tracking, and project visibility.

Growth opportunity With revenue in the $25M–$50M range and an established track record across high-volume projects, there is potential to upsell higher-margin services such as design-build coordination, modular excavation solutions, or value-engineered solutions for complex utilities work.
