CareFlite is a Texas nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that provides integrated medical transport, combining air-based and ground ambulance services to move patients and coordinate hospital care. Based in Grand Prairie, it was founded in 1979 and is among the nation’s oldest air medical providers and the second-oldest in Texas. The board includes representatives from Texas Health Resources, Methodist Health System, Baylor Health Care System, Parkland Health and Hospital System, and JPS Health Network, underscoring its governance by major regional health systems. Its Ground Ambulance Division operates bases across several North Texas counties and offers non-emergency patient transport, while also running 911/EMS services in the City of Burleson and in Hill and Kaufman Counties. CareFlite stands as the only fully-integrated medical transport operator serving North Texas. A recent development involves Rotortrade's 2026 partnership to supply two Airbus H145D3 helicopters to CareFlite, indicating fleet expansion.
